THE PERSON

Sensei Ferdie Allas has been training in Karate for over 30 years. He got started at the age of 10 in a supplemental activity after school. He said he knew he loved Karate from then and took his training to the highest level of achievements. He is currently a 4th degree black belt and has dedicated his life to this art. Sensei Ferdie is also a graduate of San Diego State University in Mechanical Engineering.





THE COMPETITOR


As a competitor, Sensei Ferdie is the one of the MOST DECORATED traditional Karate-Do athlete in the United States. His OUTSTANDING accomplishments include:

  • USA National Team member and International competitor since 1986.
  • 1986 World Collegiate Karate Championships Kobe, Japan, Bronze Medallist.
  • 1988 & 1994 Pan American Union Karate-Do Organizations (P.U.K.O) Silver Medallist.
  • 1988 World Union of Karate-do Organizations (W.U.K.O. predecessor to W.K.F.) World Championships Cairo, Egypt top eight finalist.
  • 1989 Black Belt Magazine Hall of Fame Inductee (Co-Competitor of the year).
  • 1991 Hayashi-Ha Shito-Ryu World Cup Champion (Rome, Italy).
  • 1995 Pan American Games USA National Team Captain (selected by the US Olympic Committee) Buenos Aires, Argentina Bronze Medallist.
  • 9-time USA National Champion.
  • 1995 The only person in USA Karate history to ever hold national titles, and win national team positions simultaneously in (2) categories; forms (kata) and sparring (kumite).
  • Recognized by the LA Times as “The Best of the Best” for Sport Karate 1990.

Sensei Ferdie has traveled all over the world to countries such as Japan, Mexico, Egypt, Spain, Italy, Canada, and Argentina to represent the United States in Karate competition. He retired from competition in 1995 after the Pan American Games. He brings to his students a vast amount of knowledge and experience of innovative training techniques and applications which he has gained throughout his years of study and affiliations with the highest caliber instructors in the world.

THE INSTRUCTOR


Sensei Ferdie Allas has been teaching for over 20 years to spread his knowledge to his students and hope they can benefit as much from is teachings as he did. He has taught Karate programs at the National City Boys and Girls Club, the University of San Diego, after-school programs at the Cajon Valley School District, Since opening his own school in 1998, his students have won numerous National and International titles. Nationally his students hold hundreds of National Karate titles in AAU Karate. His students have won over 1000 medals and trophies in 4 years. His students have traveled to Japan, Germany and thus far competing internationally.
